Information on prosecution and legal representation
The Criminal Law is so wide ranging that any of us may easily find ourselves on the wrong side of it, however law-abiding we think we are. Cases may be as simple as a minor road traffic infringement or as serious as murder. Prosecutions can be brought by the Crown Prosecution Service or by other publicly funded bodies such as the Department for Work and Pensions, Trading Standards Institute or the Health and Safety Executive. Whatever the nature of your case is, we want to assure you we can help.

- 'Having a solicitor will just delay things.'
NOT NECESSARILY. At the police station we will attend as quickly as possible and we will only ask for an adjournment if it is in your best interests, e.g. if we need time to consider the evidence in greater detail. It is often possible to resolve the case more quickly if we are there to help you.
