Look at the “frequently asked questions” in our free personal injury pamphlet which explains about this.
On 1st April 2000 Legal Aid for most personal injury claims ceased. So if you're injured, how will you fund your fight for compensation?
THERE'S NO WIN - NO FEE
You'll often read about "No Win - No Fee" services, but beware the small print; you can often pay insurance premiums, medical report costs, court fees, and much more.
THEN THERE'S NO WIN - ABSOLUTELY NO FEE
At Jobling & Knape we mean what we say, with no small print. When we've evaluated your case, we can totally underwrite the cost of your personal injury claim.

If you are paying for your legal services yourself, we agree a fee or the hourly charging rate in advance. If we cannot give a fee, we estimate what can be achieved for a certain price wherever possible. We keep you fully informed. There are no nasty surprises!
You can pay by standing order, or by credit or debit card in person, by monthly instruction, or over the phone. If we require payments in advance, we will let you know at the outset.

Advice and assistance at a police station is free of charge, no matter what your income.
When you are being interviewed elsewhere than at a police station by a prosecuting authority other than the police, automatic free legal help is not normally available. However, subject to your means, it may be that a form of legal aid would still enable us to advise you free of charge at such an interview.
For criminal cases (including serious driving offences) which go to court, legal aid is almost always available for the first hearing. For later hearings, legal aid is often available; although this is not an automatic entitlement and we would need to apply to the court for a representation order, the grant of which would depend upon the merits of the case and your means.
If legal aid were refused by the court, we could on your behalf appeal against the decision or ask for it to be reviewed. Even if legal aid was still not available, we could represent you as a fee-paying client, at an agreed fixed fee.
You can obtain further information on legal aid if you consult us in relation to a specific case.
